What is Really Up with Barack Obama's Birth Certificate?
Image by an agent via FlickrIf you have been watching or reading the news at all these days you have seen all the controversy about Democratic candidate Obama's supposed birth certificate validity issues. However, with all of the information out there it still seems to be difficult to get an honest answer as to what exactly is going on.Trusting a noted news source like the Associated Press seems like a pretty safe bet, and according to their latest report Obama is indeed American. It seems that Mr. Obama was born in Hawaii of an American mother and a Kenyan father. He lived in American until he was 6 years old but then went to Indonesia to live for about 4 years. It appears that some people have taken some of this information and just misconstrued it.
Mr. Obama was asked to produce a valid united states birth certificate and many reports were either that he couldn't or that what he had produced was not a valid birth certificate. It seems that all of these stories could be stretching the truth a bit? The answers will have to come out very soon as these questions just keep coming. If Mr. Obama's birth certificate was to be examined by an official party, then all questions of his being a natural born United States Citizen could be laid to rest.

Let's put this in perspective:
I am a doctor. I had to produce undergraduate and medical school diplomas, obtain Board certification and state licensure, undergo fingerprinting, prove vaccine status, perform ongoing continuous education, etc to obtain a job at a local hospital.
To become president you must be 35 years of age (i.e. show birth certificate), be a natural-born citizen (i.e. show birth certificate), and have a 14-year US residency (I'll forgo the electric bills).
Essentially, to be president one document will suffice; no college needed. Just a birth certificate!
Could you apply for a job without providing credentials? Should a candidate for the most powerful office in the land be required to produce a document demonstrating qualification?
In the case of the presidency, it is not expertise, academic excellence, nor receipt of paid licensure; just a document that at age 0 days you were thrust out of the birth canal on American soil.
Are we asking too much?
